This App is designed for children of divorce, used under the active supervision of a parent or caregiver. We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of every child who uses it. We do not collect, store, or share personal information from children.

1. About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how A Castle of Knowledge, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Mom, Dad; What About Me?! application (the “App”). The App is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) accessible via web browser and is inspired by the book Secrets & Principles of Effective Co-Parenting: Mom, Dad; What About Me?! by Arlayn Ladson‑Castle, JD, and incorporates The CASTLE Blueprint™.

This Privacy Policy is provided in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 1302–1308, and its implementing regulations at 16 C.F.R. Part 312, as updated by the FTC’s 2025 COPPA Final Rule, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.

By using this App, the parent or caregiver confirms they are 18 years of age or older, have read this Privacy Policy, and consent to its terms on behalf of themselves and any child using the App.

The App is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) accessed through a web browser. No download from an app store is required. Once purchased, access instructions will be provided via the website.

2. Who We Are

A Castle of Knowledge, LLC is the operator of this App. Dr. Arlayn Castle serves as Founder. Dr. Castle holds a degree in Psychology, a Juris Doctor (JD), and operates as a Divorce & Life Rebuild Strategist. She is not a licensed mental health clinician, therapist, or medical provider. This App is an educational and coaching tool, not a clinical or therapeutic service.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We have intentionally designed this App to collect no personal information. Specifically, this App does not:

• Collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information from children or adults;
• Collect names (beyond a first name entered locally for in-session personalization only — see Section 4);
• Collect email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, or any contact information;
• Create or maintain user accounts;
• Use cookies, tracking pixels, web beacons, or similar tracking technologies;
• Use third-party analytics tools or software development kits (SDKs);
• Collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or persistent identifiers;
• Collect geolocation data;
• Collect photographs, video, or audio recordings from users;
• Display behavioral advertising of any kind;
• Share any data with third parties for any purpose; or
• Use any data for profiling, targeting, or cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Limited In-Session Use of Child’s First Name

At the start of each App session, a parent or caregiver may enter the child’s first name to personalize the experience (e.g., “Hi, Maya!”). This first name:

• Is used only within that single active browser session;
• Is never transmitted to any server;
• Is never stored, retained, or logged in any database or file;
• Is automatically cleared when the browser tab or session is closed; and
• Is never combined with any other information to identify the child.

This limited, transient, in-session use does not constitute “collection” of personal information under COPPA, as no data leaves the user’s device or is retained in any form.

5. COPPA Compliance

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires operators of websites and online services directed to children under 13, or operators with actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information from children under 13, to provide certain protections. This App is:

• Directed to children of divorce and their families, for use under adult supervision;
• Designed for access by a parent or caregiver on behalf of or alongside a child; and
• Intentionally built to collect no personal information from children under 13 or any other user.

Because this App does not collect any personal information as defined under COPPA, verifiable parental consent for data collection is not triggered. However, as an added protection, this App requires confirmation that the user is an adult (18+) agreeing on behalf of themselves and any child before use begins.

We comply with the FTC’s 2025 updated COPPA Rule, including its expanded definitions of personal information and heightened data minimization standards. Our design-by-default approach — collecting nothing — exceeds these requirements.

6. No Third-Party Data Sharing

A Castle of Knowledge, LLC does not sell, rent, trade, license, or otherwise disclose any information to any third party. There are no advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, or third-party SDKs embedded in this App. No data of any kind flows from this App to any external party.

7. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq., California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.

Because this App does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information of any kind, there is no personal information subject to CCPA rights requests. California residents with privacy-related questions may contact us at [email protected].

8. Parental Rights Under COPPA

Parents and legal guardians have the following rights under COPPA with respect to their child’s use of this App:

• Right to Review: Because we collect no personal information, there is no personal information to review. Parents may contact us to confirm our data practices at any time.
• Right to Delete: Because we collect no personal information, there is no personal information to delete.
• Right to Refuse Further Collection: Parents may discontinue use of the App at any time. No data is retained after the session ends.
• Right to Contact Us: Parents may contact us at any time with questions or concerns about our privacy practices.

9. Not a Medical or Clinical Service

This App is an educational and coaching tool based on the proprietary frameworks of Dr. Arlayn Castle, Divorce & Life Rebuild Strategist. It is not a medical device, a digital health product, a licensed mental health service, or a therapeutic intervention under any federal or state law, including but not limited to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act or California Business and Professions Code.

No content in this App constitutes medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal, financial, or clinical advice, and it should not be relied upon as such. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to seek appropriate professional support for themselves and their children as needed.

10. Security

Because this App does not collect or transmit personal information, there is no personal data at risk of breach or unauthorized access. The App operates entirely within the user’s browser session. No data is stored on our servers in connection with App use.

We are committed to maintaining the security and integrity of this App and will continue to implement design practices consistent with applicable law and industry best practices.

11. Future Features & Technical Enhancements

This App does not currently use artificial intelligence or automated response technology. If AI-assisted or other data-processing features are introduced in future versions, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly, and users will be notified prior to any such changes taking effect. Any future features will be designed to comply with COPPA, CCPA, and all applicable privacy laws.

12. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated Effective Date at the top of this page. We encourage parents and caregivers to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App following any posted update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

If we ever materially change our data collection practices in a way that affects children under 13, we will provide notice and, where required, obtain verifiable parental consent before implementing those changes.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and is subject to applicable federal law including COPPA and the FTC Act. Any disputes relating to this Privacy Policy shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.
